Training Programme on “Mushroom Production and its Value Addition”

KVK Cuttack organized a five-days training programme at its campus under Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) project on “Mushroom Production and its value addition” from 30^th January to 3^rd February, 2023. In the above training programme about 25 youths participated from different blocks like Salepur, Cuttack sadar, Mahanga and Tangi-Choudwar of Cuttack district. Dr S Sethy, Head, KVK Cuttack coordinated the training programme and discussed different aspects of mushroom production, types of mushroom, cultivation practices of paddystraw, oyster and milky mushroom and value added product preparation of mushroom. Head, Crop Protection Division and Nodal Officer, KVK, Cuttack Dr S D Mohapatra chaired the valedictory session of the programme and advocate the participants about creating sustainable agro-enterprises through formation of Self Help Groups and FPOs and distributed the certificates to the participants. Dr D R Sarangi (SMS, Soil Science), Dr T RSahoo (SMS, Horticulture) and Dr R K Mohanta (SMS, Animal Science) coordinated the training programme and assisted by all the staffs of KVK. Demonstration programmes also conducted to give the practical exposure to the trainees and provided mushroom spawn as initial input for mushroom cultivation.
